Correspondence of the various recording secretaries of the Academy concerning a wide variety of issues and subjects and documenting the relationship of the Academy with many other scientific institutions. Correspondence of the Secretary on Academy affairs including administration, publications, meetings, meeting rooms, photographs of presidents, and genera inquiries. The Secretary's scrapbook contains news clippings, invitations, and printed notices, 1824-1887. Also, a limited amount of correspondence of Executive Directors Edwin S. Schanze, 1968-1969, and of Fred Armstrong, including text of an interview discussing the history and focus of the Academy, 1971-1973.
